What is Scrip? Scrip is gift card fundraising. It is a different way to fundraise, taking gift cards and turning them into dollars raised for the Music Ministry Programs. Hereâs how it works.
Purchase a gift card for $10-$100 for some place youâre already going to spend money â gas station, grocery store, restaurant, etc. You pay the face value of the card, no additional fees, and have the dollar amount on the gift card to spend. The Board of Music receives a discount when we purchase these cards, hence, we have made a small profit on the gift card and you have your full dollar amount to spend!
For example, you purchase a $100 gift card for Pick N Save. You have $100 to spend. The Scrip Pick N Save card cost us $96 to purchase, so the Board of Music profits $4. The Board of Music has used this money to support our Music Ministry here at Hope. The Scrip program has helped us purchase items such as: New handbell tables, foam pads, black velvet coverings, new choir folders, whiteboard for the Music Studio (to replace the old chalkboard), cross banner for the Music Studio (to inspire both adults and children as they make music!), and
shirts for Childrenâs Choir.Â
This year, we plan to use the funds raised to help with the purchase of a new drum set for the 10:30 service. (Did you know the current drum kit is now 20 years old!)
Scrip is sold almost every weekend. We have some Scrip gift cards in stock. If we do not have what you would like, it can be ordered. The ordered Scrip will arrive in 1-2 weeks. Visit us at the Welcome Center to learn more!
