Don't Miss Out! Women's Retreat Registration Deadline is Sunday!

Sunday, April 27 is the last day to register for the upcoming Women's Retreat here at Hope.

The follow-up to our overwhelmingly successful Fall Retreat takes place Saturday, May 3rd, from 9 am-3 pm. The theme for our day this spring is the Secret Garden of Prayer, focusing on our prayer life.

Ladies, we hope you can spend the day here for fellowship, spiritual growth, uplifting music, lunch from the Cellar District, and more as we continue to "Journey Together."

As before, there's no charge; a freewill donation box will be available at the retreat to cover expenses.

Picnic Shelter Update

We are very blessed to have such a giving, supportive congregation.  We have now reached 28% of our funding goal for the Picnic Shelter; raising $40,254 toward our $144,480 project funding goal. Thank you all who have contributed to the project.

The shelter will be used for a variety of events, including summer worship services, VBS, Sunday Night Live!, outdoor weddings and family gatherings.

The 34' x 64' structure will feature wood scissor trusses with glulam beams supported by eight, nine-foot stone-wrapped steel columns. Weatherproof materials are featured throughout.

A 1500-watt sound system coupled with custom LED lighting will provide users with an immersive outdoor experience.

Hope's Adopted Missionaries - 2025

  Rev. Dr. Fungchatou (Fung) and

Dr. Kalia Lo

Rev. Dr. Fungchatou (Fung) and Dr. Kalia Lo work in partnership with Mission of Christ Network LINC-International, and the Hmong Mission Society. The Lo family is currently serving the Lord as foreign missionaries to the Hmong in Asia.

Our second Missionary, is Rev. Dr. Gottfried Martens, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, Germany who does mission work especially among refugees from Iran and Afghanistan, offering them opportunities to get to know the Christian faith in Farsi and Dari.

Hope’s commitment is to raise $18,000 this year, which will be split between our two missionaries.

Donations can be made using the envelopes found at the back of church or online.

Rev. Dr. Gottfried Martens

Loaves & Fishes

Hope Lutheran serves six Monday night meals each year as part of the city-wide Loaves & Fishes program.  In 2024, Hope prepared 1,034 meals, nearly twice as many meals as last year.  We have seen an increase in the number of Fond du Lac families struggling with food insecurity.  Our congregation’s support is very important to many of our neighbors.  Our standard meal includes chicken, potato wedges, fresh carrots, 2 home-made cookies, bread & butter, and milk.  Any extra meals are delivered to the St. Katharine Drexel Shelter.  In 2024, 134 meals (plus any extra food) were delivered to the shelter.

Hope Lutheran has between 8-13 volunteers serving at each of the meals.  We supplement our congregation’s donations with the financial support of Thrivent Action teams and this year we also received a local Kwik Trip grant.

Since there are no meals offered next week, Hope also provided food gift bags.  Items included this year were an apple, orange, sausage stick, string cheese, fruit snacks, homemade snack mix, trail mix, cookies, Hot Chocolate, and a couple candy canes and Hershey kisses.

Please continue to pray for our neighbors who struggle with food insecurity and those who serve them. We would like to thank our volunteers and donors for their dedication to our mission.

2025 Save the Dates:  June 2nd, August 18th, October 6th, December 8th.

 Thank you!
